Possibility of storing research data in the Zenodo repository

25. 1. 2021 | Go to archive

Some journals require authors to submit  a permanent link to research data, which in practice means that the data should be stored in a data repository. Many journals have their own platforms or recommend authors to specific repositories, but this is not always the case.

In terms of searchability and citation of data, it is best to deposit the data into subject repositories, but if a repository does not exist for the given research field, the solution is a multidisciplinary repository.

The library has set up an account in the multidisciplinary repository Zenodo, so authors from TBU can use this option. Up to 50GB of data in any format can be uploaded within a single data file. You can choose a license or save the data in closed mode, or publish the data from the selected date (so-called embargo). A unique DOI identifier is generated for each version of the data.

The Zenodo repository is operated by CERN and its sustainability is ensured. Zenodo is also indexed by the Web of Science Data Citation Index.
